ANA Screen ELISA Test Kit

ANA Screen ELISA Test Kit Intended Use
Human ANA Screen ELISA kit is for the qualitative detection of IgG class antibodies to a variety of common nuclear antigens in human sera with 100% specificity. This kit is capable of detecting all ANAs commonly tested for, such as those against double stranded DNA (dsDNA), Jo-1, SM,Sm/RNP, SSA, SSB, and Scl-70. This test is also capable of detecting ANA demonstrating centromere, nucleolar, peripheral, and spindle indirect immunofluorescence antibody (IFA) patterns.

ANA Screen ELISA Test Kit Components:
• Ana Screen Test Microplate: Inactivated Antigen Coated 96 wells
• Peroxidase Conjugated goat anti-human IgG
• Positive Control (Human Serum)
• Ana Screen EIA Test Kit Calibrator (Human Serum)
• Negative Control (Human Serum)
• Ana Test Kit Sample Diluent
• TMB Substrate Solution
• Stop Solution (1M H2SO4, 0.7M HCL)
• Wash Buffer Concentrate (10X)

Method Principle
This Diagnostic Automation/ Cortez Diagnostics Inc. Human ANA Screen ELISA test kit is based on the principle of ELISA- Indirect assay using allergen coated microwells. Wells of microplate strips are sensitized by passive absorption with antigen. The test procedure involves three incubation steps. Background Information
Anti-nuclear antibodies (ANAs), also known as anti-nuclear factor or ANF are autoantibodies in blood, produced by immune system which also attack the body’s own tissues by working against one or more protein in the body. Body normally produces antibodies to attack and destroy the invaders or foreign organisms such as virus and bacteria. ANAs are abnormal antibodies or autoantibodies with the capability of attacking body by binding to various parts of the nucleus of the cells. The tendency of the immune system to work against its own body is referred to as autoimmunity. Thus, detection of ANAs may be indicative of the presence of autoimmune disease. Autoimmune diseases characteristically feature inflammation of various tissues of the body. ANAs are found in patients with a number of different autoimmune diseases, such as systemic Lupus erythematosus, drug induced lupus, Sjogren syndrome, Rheumatoid arthritis, Scleroderma, Vitiligo, Hashimoto thyroiditis, Juvenile diabetes mellitus, Addison disease, pernicious anemia, glomerulonephritis, and pulmonary fibrosis. Moreover, ANAs can also be found in patients with conditions that are not considered typical autoimmune diseases, such as cancer and chronic infections. This ANA Screen ELISA test system is designed to detect IgG class antibodies to a variety of common nuclear antigens in human serum. This screening is useful in the diagnosis of autoimmune disorders and monitoring levels helps to predict the progression of diseases or assessing the efficacy of a treatment.
