SSA (Ro) ELISA Test kit

SSA (Ro) ELISA Test kit Intended Use
SSA (Ro) ELISA Kit is intended for the detection and semi-quantitation of IgG, A, M antibodies to SSA (Ro) in human sera. The results of this assay are to be used as an aid to the diagnosis of autoimmune disease.

SSA (Ro) ELISA Kit Components:
• Microplate: 96 wells coated with inactivated antigen
• HRP Conjugated goat anti-human IgG
• Sample Diluent
• Positive Control
• Negative Control
• Calibrator
• Wash Buffer (10X)
• TMB Substrate Solution
• Stop Solution (1M H2SO4, 0.7M HCI)

Method Principle
This Diagnostic Automation/ Cortez Diagnostics Inc. Human SSA (Ro) ELISA Kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay to detect IgG, IgA, and IgM antibodies to SSA (Ro) antigens. Purified SSA (Ro) antigens are attached to a solid phase microplate wells. When antigens bound to the solid phase are brought into contact with a patient serum, antigen specific antibody, if present, will bind to the antigen on the solid phase forming antigen antibody complexes. For further details please refer to complete instructions manual supplied with the product.

Background Information
Immunoassays for auto antibodies are useful for diagnostic and prognostic evaluations of autoimmune disease. SSA (also named Ro) antigen consists of protein complexed with RNA. Approximately 60% of patients with Sjogren syndrome and 35% of SLE patients have antibodies to SSA. SLE patients with SSA (Ro) antibodies alone (negative La/SSB) have a greater chance of developing nephritis.
