Scl-70 ELISA Test kit

Scl-70 ELISA Test kit Intended Use
Scl-70 ELISA test kit is a semi-quantitative immunoassay for the detection of IgG antibodies to Scl-70 in human sera. The results of this autoantibody profile may aid in the diagnosis and treatment follow up of autoimmune connective tissue disorders.

Scl-70 ELISA Kit Components:
• Microplate: 96 wells coated with inactivated antigen
• HRP Conjugated goat anti-human IgG (Fc chain specific)
• Sample Diluent
• Positive Control
• Negative Control
• Calibrator
• Wash Buffer Type I (10X)
• TMB Substrate Solution
• Stop Solution (1M H2SO4, 0.7M HCI)

Method Principle
This Diagnostic Automation/ Cortez Diagnostics Inc. Human Scl-70 ELISA Kit is designed to detect IgG class antibodies in human sera. Wells of microplate are sensitized by passive absorption with immobilized antigens. The test procedure involves three incubation steps. For further details please refer to complete instructions manual supplied with the product.

Background Information
The name scl-70 consists of an abbreviation of scleroderma and a 70 KD extractable immunoreactive fragment. Scl-70 antibodies are highly specific for scleroderma mainly in diffuse systemic scleroderma, but also observed in a more limited form of systemic scleroderma called CREST syndrome and in a minority of SLE patients. Scl-70 positive scleroderma patients tend to have a more severe disease course, more internal organ involvement and diffuse rather than limited skin involvement. Scl-70 antibodies are rarely found in other autoimmune diseases, and thus, their detection in a patient with the recent onset of Raynaud’s phenomenon is highly significant
