Cardiolipin IgA ELISA kit
Cardiolipin IgA ELISA Test kit
Cardiolipin IgA ELISA Test kit Intended Use
Cardiolipin Antibody test kit is an enzymelinked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) designed for the semi-quantitative measurement of circulating IgA autoantibodies to Cardiolipin
Kit Components:
• Microplate: 96 wells coated with Cardiolipin antigen
• Peroxidase Conjugated goat anti-human IgA
• Positive Control (Human Serum)
• Calibrator (Human Serum)
• Negative Control (Human Serum)
• Cardiolipin IgA Test Kit Sample Diluent
• TMB Substrate Solution
• Stop Solution (1M H2SO4, 0.7M HCL)
• Wash Buffer Concentrate (10X)
Method Principle
This Diagnostic Automation/ Cortez Diagnostics Inc. Human Cardiolipin IgA ELISA Test kit is designed to detect IgA class antibodies to Cardiolipin in human sera. Wells of plastic microwell strips are sensitized by passive absorption with Cardiolipin antigen. The test procedure involves three incubation steps. For further details please refer to complete instructions manual supplied with the product.
Background Information
Autoantibodies directed against phospholipids, and anti-cardiolipin (aCL) in particular, are also referred to as Anti-cardiolipin (ACA). ACA or aCL have been associated with recurrent thrombosis, thrombocytopenia, and spontaneous abortions. ACA or aCL is detected in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus, in patients with other connective tissue disease, and in individuals undergoing chlorpromazine treatment. Moreover, since cardiolipin antibodies are the most common of the antiphospholipid antibodies, low to moderate level may be temporarily detected in patients with infection as well as in persons who do not have chronic illness. Even though not significant, but must be evaluated in conjunction with other clinical information. ACA IgA is often associated with IgG antibodies. ACA IgA seems to have a greater validity in thrombosis and fetal loss. ELISA testing for ACA of various isotypes supports the diagnosis of anti-phospholipid syndrome in patients with SLE and lupus-like disorders.
